About

Rain Story is an award-winning screenwriter and author, story consultant, and campfire storyteller. Her love of telling stories that matter develops from many genres, character types, locations, situations, vibes, and human conditions.

Rain is the Owner of StoryScriptWorks, LLC, and President of Christopher’s Lifeboat Foundation, which supports grieving parents. She also supports and volunteers with national and local literacy organizations.

Previously, Rain worked as a litigation paralegal after earning two B.A.s and four years of graduate work toward a Ph.D. She graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Donaghey Scholar, Cooper Honors Fellow, and Phi Kappa Phi National Graduate Fellow at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Rain received the Gladys K. Brown Award for Outstanding Senior and the Anne Russ Award for Congeniality. Today, the hard work has paid off with many awards and ongoing script-consulting projects.

Rain completed her first screenplay in 1996 and continues to hone her skills and craft. Her favorite story gurus are Joseph Campbell, Christopher Vogler, Robert McKee, and Stephen King. Her favorite screenwriters are Stephen Knight, Diablo Cody, Meg LeFauve, Francis Ford Coppola, Taylor Sheridan, and Eric Kripke: the more complex the characters, the deeper the love.

Rain is currently seeking literary representation.
