About
Brian C. Thompson writes alternate-history military fiction set during World War II. His American War (Pacific Theater) and European War series reimagine the great conflicts of the war through what-if turning points: America breaking Japan's naval codes before Pearl Harbor, and Chamberlain's death in October 1938, placing Churchill in Number 10 before the war began.
A Date with Infamy launched in March 2026 and has held the #1 position in Amazon's Alternate History category since launch, with The Gathering Storm at #2.
The series is inspired by his great-uncle, Lt. Col. Frederick J. Gibson, a decorated Pacific Theater fighter pilot whose service is documented in the family film Goodbye Momma.
Thompson holds a B.A. in History from SMU and a B.B.A. in Accounting. He works as a Technology Solution Executive in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
