The author of twenty-five novels, Paul Levine won the John D. MacDonald Fiction Award and has been nominated for the Edgar, Macavity, International Thriller, Shamus, and James Thurber prizes. The international bestseller, "To Speak for the Dead," which introduced readers to linebacker-turned-lawyer Jake Lassiter, was named one of the top mysteries of the year by the Los Angeles Times. His novel, "Bum Rap," reached #1 on Amazon’s bestseller list. He also writes the critically acclaimed "Solomon vs. Lord" series of legal capers. "Midnight Burning," first of his Einstein-Chaplin series, was named "Historical Thriller of the Year" by Best Thrillers Book Review and one of the "Favorite Books of 2025" by Bookreporter. "Midnight Patriots," second of the series, is a 2026 release. A former trial lawyer, Levine also wrote twenty episodes of the CBS military drama JAG and co-created the Supreme Court drama First Monday starring James Garner and Joe Mantegna. He is a member of Penn State's Society of Distinguished Alumni and graduated, with honors, from the University of Miami School of Law. He lives in Santa Barbara, CA.
