This is the Dawning: a Woodstock Love Story
By chance both Paul Applebaum and Sylvia Zyweig end up in at the Woodstock Music Festival in August of 1969. They meet under unforeseen circumstances and Paul is immediately attracted to Sylvia. Sylvia aspires to be a filmmaker and has landed an assignment to get released from the musicians for the Warner Brothers concert film. The two are in the twenties and both are children of immigrants. They have only seen the trials and strife of married life until they meet Max and Miriam Yasgur. The owners of Yasgur's farm, the resulting site of the music festival, show Paul and Sylvia how love and affection blossoms into a lasting relationship. This is the Dawning is historical fiction, but the Afterword written by journalist and radio personality Rush Evans is fact. The article is based on his multiple meetings, emails, and phone conversations with Richie Havens.
