About

At my age, I'm an old man but a young writer. For 25 years, I was a copywriter and creative director in the advertising/marketing business. I wrote every day. I told other people's stories in a wide range of contexts. I'm also a professional photographer. With my wife, I raised two kids. It has been a good life. But I've always wanted to write fiction. My father published 11 books, his first when he was 49. I've always wanted to do that.

Today, I am semi-retired and began learning by writing. Mostly short fiction. A few screenplays for short films. Everything I write seems to incorporate a bit of what Robert Kirk called The Secret Commonwealth. Not really fantasy, not science fiction. Some of both, maybe. Every day, I study, I read and I write. It's still a good life.
