Eric Dickey is an author, IT professional, streamer, and survivor. He is a man who delves into life’s mysteries of the normal and paranormal, looking to understand both. He is a man of faith who happens to believe in the supernatural, having experienced supernatural events in his life. Eric writes contemporary urban fantasy, horror, and suspenseful thrillers, with a dose of high fantasy thrown in for good measure. His current work in progress is titled Magi, a contemporary urban fantasy with touches of suspenseful thriller, combining religion, magic, myth, intrigue, and the need to save the world from destruction. Magi will be the prequel to a contemporary urban fantasy series featuring the protagonist and antagonist. When not working on Magi, Eric writes for publications on Medium.com and his Substack publication, Tales from an Experienced Survivor. Eric currently attends Southern New Hampshire University, working towards an MFA-Creative Writing. Eric is a member of the Horror Writers Association and the Authors Guild.

Eric has been an avid reader throughout his life and counts many authors among those that have provided thought and inspiration. Authors include J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Judy Blume, and Madeleine L’Engle who helped form his imagination during childhood, and Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft, Dean Koontz, Jim Butcher, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, James Patterson, and Sue Grafton to name a few who have inspired his adulthood and writing.

Eric has been married for almost 25 years. He and his wife have two daughters, 27 and 23, two dogs, two cats, and five chickens and currently lives in North Texas. Eric was born in Waco, TX and has lived in various cities and states throughout his life. He has endured several traumatic events throughout his life that leads him to call himself an experienced survivor.

Eric currently works as a Product Owner for a major international defense corporation. Before this, Eric worked in the Information Technology industry in various roles including software engineer, IT Manager, and Director of IT. Eric received his BS in Management Information Systems and an MS in Management, both from Colorado State University.

When he is not writing, working, or attending school, Eric likes to be outdoors, and prefers to be hiking and camping somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. He is an amateur astronomer and has observed the universe for over 40 years. Eric also streams on Twitch and YouTube under his online persona Lord Blackwulff when he can, playing various games as well as streaming his writing work and interacting with the Twitch writing community.
