About

Erica Moore is the founder of the language girl—a translation, editing, and copywriting firm that helps Dutch authors and organizations find a voice in English. Her translation work mostly involves feature writing and narrative nonfiction. She works to convey the subtleties of each author’s voice in lively, compelling prose and has a weakness for quirky observers and cleareyed truthtellers.

Recent books include the New York Times bestseller HUMANKIND: A Hopeful History, by Rutger Bregman (Bloomsbury and Little, Brown), Bregman’s latest, MORAL AMBITION (Bloomsbury and Little, Brown), and GRIP by Rick Pastoor with Elizabeth Manton (HarperCollins). Coming in 2026: CAPITALISM is SEXISM by Doortje Smithuijsen (Simon & Schuster) and THE DIVIDE by Maurits Chabot (August Books). Erica has also translated pieces by Lex Boon, Lynn Berger, Sinan Çankaya, Hiske Versprille, and many other young Dutch writers, and edited essays by Stephen Satterfield, Charles C. Mann, Carolyn Steel, Bee Wilson, Bill McKibben, and Sarah Kendzior.

Erica hails from Austin, Texas and now lives in Amsterdam.
