Carrie Courogen is the author of Miss May Does Not Exist: The Life and Work of Elaine May, Hollywood’s Hidden Genius, a 2024 National Book Critics Circle finalist. Her follow-up, Cassavetes and Rowlands, is forthcoming from St. Martin’s Press. She spent nearly a decade at Condé Nast, most recently as the associate director of creative development across digital video for Pitchfork and Vanity Fair. Her work has appeared in publications such as Bright Wall/Dark Room, NPR, PAPER Magazine, Pitchfork, Vanity Fair, and more. She lives in New York City.
