About

I am a practicing cardiologist, Distinguished Professor at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chief of Cardiology, Director of Medical Device Innovations, and a Fellow in the National Academy of Inventors. I also serve as President of the Nassau County Museum of Art. I was taught creative writing by National Book Award winner John Barth and have been a medical writer and editor my entire adult life, publishing hundreds of articles in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. My previous works include the art-heist thriller Pollock No. 5 (Black Opal Books, 2021), which debuted at ThrillerFest 2022, where I served as a panelist, and A Patient's Guide to Heart Rhythm Problems (Johns Hopkins Press, 2010), recognized as Library Journal’s Best Health Book. The Real Banksy was written with the editorial assistance of ITW’s Mu Thrillertique writing group lead by New York Times best-selling author Patricia Rosemoor.
