About
After reading Tolkien, R.M. Schultz wrote his first 100,000-word fantasy novel as a freshman in high school. When he’s not saving animals, he continues reading and writing fantasy and science fiction, and has done so for over two decades. R.M. founded and heads the North Seattle Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Group and has published over a dozen novels.
R.M.'s books have won multiple awards, including bronze and gold medals for fantasy. His latest series is being adapted into a video game! The game is slated to be released in the fall to winter of 2024. He has written and performed several songs—calling them dragon shanties—for the world that will be included with the music played for the game.
And more than anything, he wants to be knighted by George R.R. Martin.

Dragons are kin, manned by a team of riders. Bound mages guide them. Armored knights wield lances and shields. Archers maneuver ballistae.
The Dragon Queen of Murgare barrels toward the lone outpost of Nevergrace, riding her infamous shadow dragon and destroyer of kingdoms. She seeks retribution for her murdered king.
At Nevergrace, Cyran Orendain encounters a snarky forest dragon named Eidelmere who is bitter and resentful, having seen many centuries of battle and betrayals. Cyran forges an unlikely bond with the creature, which hurls him down a path he never could have imagined. He will wield magic, lance, and bow and become a rider and ally to Eidelmere.
Cyran’s sister, Jaslin, must learn of the old guard and the many breeds of dragons, of their magic, and discover a mysterious power she can wield and use to lead her people.
Pravon the Dragon Thief roams the lands stealing these creatures and performing deeds under blood contract to a concealed employer. In the beginning, his objectives are obscure, but the closer he comes to the war, the more someone’s darker intentions are brought to light.
For in the end, it will take strategizing with many unique dragons, magic, and forging bonds with the creatures.
One side will bleed and one will fall.
But little do they understand each other.
And either the queen or the knight will rise from the ashes of dragon fire.
