Born in Houston, Texas, Mary grew up in a small town just west of the Bayou City, living the average life of the daughter of an accountant and an RN. She was prolific in the arts, especially theater and writing, but abandoned all of that for four years to study anthropology. Not long after graduating from college, she got married and made minor successes in working in her field of study, but ultimately decided she would rather write. After many false starts and many years later, she is finally getting serious about finishing a book...ANY book idea...and endeavors to complete her first novel in 2026. This WIP straddles several genres, but the one she hopes rings true is the adventure it is to discover history and cultures... which is an anthropology of a sort after all.
