About
Hi, I’m Tara, co-author of the comic series Room of Swords, Love Me to Death, Warlock’s Protector, and Metamortis. I write and illustrate graphic novels with my husband, Julian, under our joint pen name, "Toonimated".
We love telling stories that make people question assumptions and feel compassion for people and situations they might normally overlook. Our favorite genres are horror and science fiction, though our stories almost always include a bit of romance and action as well! We take a very mixed-media approach to storytelling. With backgrounds in animation and video game development, we’ve always been obsessed with narrative and found our way into writing through comics first. Our influences range across authors, game writers, and screenwriters from Stephen King to Hideo Kojima to Vince Gilligan, and many more. We often feel a little like the odd ones out as we're basically eclectic hermits, prone to hyperfocusing on the things we love, but I’m really excited to be part of this community and hopefully find a sense of belonging among other talented writers and story lovers!

Love Me to Death
In the city of San Guadario, necromancy has been banned for one hundred years. Every aspect of life, from buying food to getting married, requires a signature written in one's own blood. If a necromancer were to sign, their identity would be revealed by the magic that courses through their veins. As a necromancer, Victor and his cute one-eyed cat must live a discreet life, constantly on the run.
Everything changes when the wealthiest patron in San Guadario hires Victor to resurrect his recently deceased, and impossibly beautiful, bride. The catch? Victor must perform an ancient ritual that eternally binds him to this bride. After he brings her back to life, Victor finds himself magically entangled with the bride and groom and caught in the middle of more romance than he knows what to do with.
