A recovering academic, Stranger is currently completing revision of a novel that is at once a love story and an interrogation of the subtle but persistent racism, homophobia and sexism that manifest as addiction, obsession and even violence in the apparently wholesome private lives of Upper Midwesterners. They also participate regularly in the creative culture of rural Northern Minnesota by participating in live storytelling and poetry events and as a DJ for the people-powered radio show “On the River” at KBXE Bemidji.
