McDuffie Putnam lives and writes in Florence, South Carolina. He has a broad background, including experience as a writer, economist, and university lecturer. He holds a BA and MA in Economics, both from the University of South Carolina. His interests include mental health, culture, music, literature, history, and film. McDuffie and his wife, Christina, met in graduate school in Nashville, TN, in the late twentieth century, and have two grown children. Their dog, George, is highly intelligent, rarely barks, and loves old movies.
