About
Lisa M. Hammond, DBA, PMP, SAFe SPC
Dr. Lisa M. Hammond is an author, scholar, and educator whose work bridges science, spirit, and systems. She is the creator of the Starling Organization and Nature-Inspired Circular Economy Model (NICEM) frameworks, which draw on biomimicry and ecological intelligence to redesign how organizations lead, learn, and adapt.
Lisa teaches sustainable project management and biomimicry at the University of South Florida Muma College of Business and Honors College, where her Rewilding Business Education initiative reconnects leadership education to living systems and the inner dimensions of change. Her research and teaching integrate insights from Thomas Berry, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Joanna Macy, and Otto Scharmer to cultivate what she calls “ecological consciousness in management.”
In parallel, under the pen name Madden Krail, she writes dystopian political fiction, including the Tier Zero series—an exploration of digital authoritarianism, surveillance, and resistance in an algorithmic age. Her fiction blends political realism with speculative foresight, examining how technology and ideology intersect to shape the human spirit.
Lisa’s work has been recognized through invitations to the Garrison Institute’s Inner Development for Systems Change faculty cohort (led by Rebecca Henderson) and the u.lab Business Education Track (with Otto Scharmer and Michael Pirson). She is the founder of Iron Veil Publishing, an independent imprint dedicated to thought-provoking, purpose-driven storytelling.
