About
I began my writing and editing career in New York City, as a story editor for Bravo, MTV, and VH1—back when reality television was akin to cinema verité. After moving to Los Angeles, I transitioned my passion for storytelling to the stage and mic, performing theatrically throughout Southern California and voicing dozens of audiobooks for both production houses and self-published authors. Back on the page, I found a most gratifying calling as a book editor—assisting authors in developing and sharing their stories with the world.
In short, telling others’ stories became my niche.
My other talent lies in constant movement—from job to job, place to place, my quest for new experiences and new lands has always been insatiable. A vagabond at heart, my journeys have taken me across landscapes both internal and external.
And then, as I embarked upon authoring my first book…it all came together.
Hiraethon
To me, story is the cartography of longing: a way to illuminate the heart’s quest for a destination that lies beyond the map, where the terrain of the soul and the echo of collective memory live side by side.
I call that compass point Hiraethon. Rooted in the Welsh word hiraeth—a deep yearning for a place beyond reach—Hiraethon is my way of charting this longing through the ritual of journey, across landscapes of land, soul, and sea.
Guided by an instinct to follow the path that opens before me, I listen for what lingers at the edges: the echoes of history, the poetry of silence, the lullabies sung by winding roads, flowing waters, and whispering winds. And I often hear the voices of places unable to speak for themselves and people too often overlooked.
My work entwines personal journey with collective memory, exploring lesser-known byways, forgotten corners, and the fringes of existence. Each page becomes a map—navigating not to a fixed destination, but to the unseen terrain of longing and belonging.
My upcoming book, Dust & Dreams: Roadmap of the American Soul, is the first in the Hiraethon series.
Dust & Dreams: Roadmap of the American Soul is a lyrical memoir, told in the voice of Route 66 herself: the Mother Road—goddess, storyteller, and witness to a century of American longing and becoming.
As she narrates her memoir, Mother Road takes readers on a journey through time, riding shotgun with travelers both real and imagined. Each chapter explores a different town or stretch of highway—all of them her children—revealing histories, heartbreaks, and moments of joy.
The book interweaves historical facts, invented vignettes, lullabies, and poetic reflections to explore themes of wanderlust, resilience, land, loss, and the sacredness of motion. What emerges is a soulful portrait of a country in flux—and a road that refuses to be forgotten.
