About
Like many writers, I fell in love with books at an early age. One of my earliest recollections was "Where the Wild Things Are," by Maurice Sendak. I would check out the book from my school library and return it on time, then wait the required number of days to check it out again. I'm sure I held the record for the number of times any one student checked out a specific title. I own a copy that sits on my bookshelf to this day.
Naturally, the love of books progressed. At one point, I realized that if I really needed to, I could turn them into makeshift coffee tables and chairs. (Not really, I come from that generation that has difficulty marking books up-it's almost sacrilegious).
Two years ago, I completed a full length screenplay that is registered with the Library of Congress. Since then, I have been working on a historical fiction novel, and am almost done with the first draft of the manuscript. I have a master's degree in English and taught at the middle, high school and junior college level.
I am looking forward to learning and growing with The Author's Guild and meeting fellow writers!
