About
Jesse Cockrell is a writer, poet, and lifelong storyteller whose imagination has been in full swing since childhood—sometimes to the confusion of her teachers, neighbors, and unsuspecting classmates. An enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation and a proud Jewish woman, she grew up weaving together the rich tapestries of her heritage in rural Texas and Oklahoma. Jesse’s early passion for words earned her multiple scholastic writing awards, and in 2023, she published her first collection of poems, Cursors, on Poetizer, marking just the beginning of a journey that continues to explore identity, myth, and the subtle magic in everyday life. When she’s not writing, Jesse can often be found plotting stories in cafés, rescuing stray ideas from notebooks, or chuckling at the absurdity of life—sometimes all at once.
