Susan P. Baker is the author of (6) six novels, UNAWARE, Ledbetter Street, Suggestion of Death, My First Murder, Death of a Prince, and The Sweet Scent of Murder, as well as two nonfiction books, Murdered Judges Of the Twentieth Century and Heart of Divorce-Advice from a Judge.
She is the past head of the Southwest Chapter of Mystery Writers of America, and currently a member of Authors Guild, Women Fiction Writers Association, Writer’s League of Texas, Sisters in Crime, and San Miguel Literary Sala.
A retired judge from Texas, Susan also practiced law and worked as a probation officer, all of which give her books a ring of authenticity. Susan is the mother of two and grandmother of eight. LEDBETTER STREET is the story of a mother fighting to gain custody of her autistic son 40 years after giving him up.
Marian Reid is the owner of Reid's Ritzy Rags on Ledbetter Street in Galveston, Texas, and, for all practical purposes, the helper or "fixer" of her friends' and neighbors' problems. When the caregiver of Marian's son dies from Alzheimer's, Marian must fight fierce opposition to gain custody, while making other difficult choices involving her friends along the way.
