About

L. V. Simón was born in Havana, Cuba. Her father was a political prisoner in the Communist island, and her family immigrated to the U.S. when she was 9 years old. Assigned as a tool to assist in the process of learning English, she was required to write a short story. This inadvertently ignited a lifelong passion for writing. By age 16, she had written a novella, and she went on to study creative writing at the University of Florida. Seeking security, she went on to pursue a law degree from New York University, but in 2011, she returned to writing—specifically screenwriting. Since then, she has been a prolific filmmaker with seven feature films and dozens of screenplays. In 2024, she yearned to return to writing prose and has since completed four novels.
