My book "From Author to Expert: Transform Your Nonfiction Book Idea into a Finished Manuscript" will be published by The Collective Book Studio in June 2026. My coauthor, Marisa Solis, cofounded Book Structure Pros. We provide book coaching, developmental editing, and training to help authors move successfully from book concept to completion.

As an editor specializing in prescriptive and lifestyle nonfiction for more than 20 years, I've worked on more than 100 books. A freelancer since 2012, I work with authors and publishers, including Weldon Owen, Chronicle Books, The Collective Book Studio, Insight Publications, and New Harbinger Publications.

I often write about health, leadership, and all things parenting for clients such as BabyCenter and Health Central. One of my most fun projects was writing the "Klutz String Art Book Kit."

As the executive editor of the lifestyle and children’s division at Weldon Owen for nearly 10 years, I ran publishing programs for Parenting and Working Mother magazines, Gymboree, Pottery Barn Kids, and Hallmark. I partnered with Chronicle Books and Scholastic.

A longtime resident of Silicon Valley, I'm a former award-winning tech journalist, served as an executive producer at a large Disney-owned website, and helped launch two successful startups.

I hold a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
