About

I earned my English Education degree with a writing minor from Bethel University, where I was also a staff writer and section editor for the Clarion newspaper. After college, I taught literature and writing at Christian high schools and developed curricula focused on the historical context of classic texts. Though I spent the intervening years writing poetry extensively--over time I developed a passion for writing historical fiction. This first began while I was adapting the Bible into a narrative, chronological format to make it easier to digest for my middle-school-aged son. That project sparked a deep interest in the era of Israel’s early monarchy, which led to my first novel, which I am currently working on getting published. I have also begun writing my second novel set in Viking-age Ireland and Iceland.
