About

I am an Iranian-American author. I moved to the United States in 2007 since I received fellowships from Brown University and BMI (Black Mountain Institute) at the University of Nevada. Now live in Henderson, Nevada.
I was born in Jofreh, a village on the coast of the Persian Gulf. My birthplace has had a substantial impact on my writing career. In addition to children stories, I have written a lot of short stories, several novels, and a few screenplays. My short stories have been translated into different languages. They have been published in PEN America, World Literature Today, and CONSEQUENCE Magazine. I have also had presentations all around the world, in countries such as Germany (House of World Cultures: 3 times, Berlin Conference 2000, and Goethe Institute), France (La Maison des Ecrivains 2000), Italy, Sweden (Gothenburg Culture Festival – For Art and Culture: 2 times), England, Turkey, Canada, and in more than twenty-two states in the United States including PEN America, Maryland university, Brown university, Philadelphia university, Stanford university Black Mountain Institute, and Toronto university.
While my works are banned in my former country, I have been publishing my books since 2015 in Persian and English on Amazon, Google Play and LULU.
