About

Lisa M. Davis writes young adult novels that reflect her belief that darkness is the new light. Her tales are a deep dive into redemption, romance, and the fine line between heroes and villains. They often feature characters who are queer and neurodivergent like her, and they always seek to explore those deeper questions we tend to bury deep inside. Her experience with PTSD is at the heart of her contemporary fantasy debut, A Single Thread of Light.

Lisa graduated summa cum laude from Capella University with a BS in Business Administration. Her master’s degree, earned summa cum laude, is from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Leadership in Teaching. She also attended the Hollins University Children’s Literature program, where she was taught by bestselling author, Dhonielle Clayton. She is a member of SCBWI.

When she isn’t writing, Lisa can be found somewhere outside with her husband and children, hiking, kayaking, skiing, or volunteering at various barns and horse rescues.
