I grew up on endless High Plains vistas overlaid with right-angle gravel roads. Working for an enormous telephone monopoly, I ventured into homes and businesses on repair calls where I encountered the full expression of human eccentricities. After earning a degree in economics, I acquired a couple of patents and managed technical teams until an infection by the writing bug overpowered me. I live and write in Austin, Texas.
