I am a writer and author living in the greater Austin, Texas, area. I am the author of the LOS ANGELES TIMES bestseller THE WILD BUNCH: Sam Peckinpah, a Revolution in Hollywood, and the Making of a Legendary Film as well as ten other books. I'm also a National Magazine Award finalist. My work regularly appear in TEXAS MONTHLY and many other magazines. I am a past president and fellow of the Texas Institute of Letters. I have won many awards, including the Western Heritage Award, also known as the "Bronze Wrangler."
