About
I went to art school to study illustration but I chickened out and never really made a go of it. Instead I worked as a graphic designer for 20 years. After all this time I am writing and illustrating picture books and having the time of my life! I just received my first book contract from Paw Prints Publishing for my book Oldilocks, which allowed me to join the guild. I am very available for illustration commissions.

Oldilocks: An Age-Defying Fairy Tale (tentative)
The main character of Oldilocks is a spry 73-year-old who wears a belt pack, a Fitbit and white tennis shoes. She’s sassy, independent, and skilled with technology. When she makes her way to the three bears’ house, she defies the reader’s expectations by fixing the broken stove instead of eating the oatmeal, fixing the wifi instead of sitting in the chair, and fixing the bed – before she eventually takes a nap in it. When the bears come home, the reader will tense up, expecting a confrontation, only to find out that she had been hired by the bears to do all the previous repair work around their house. The book ends soon after she hands Mrs. Bear the repair bill. "I take cash, check, or PayPaw," Oldilocks says.
Oldilocks is a modern twist on a traditional fairy tale written for kids ages 4-8. The story has a running visual gag featuring a squirrel who mimes all of Oldilocks' actions. It also features 3 short explanatory text boxes about how Oldilocks is fixing things. Although the moral of the story is that we can all defy expectations, it's wrapped in good-hearted humor and readers will enjoy the twist on an old story.
