About

I have been writing fiction for more than 60 years in addition to enjoying a fulfilling career as a medical writer and cofounding the prestigious Writers@Work literary conference in Utah. My first novel, Racing Into the Dark, was published by EP Dutton in 1989; the book was optioned for a movie and paperback and German rights sold. Little Great Island, my novel about the power of love and community in the face of climate change, published May, 2025, by Sibylline Press. My short stories have appeared in Cimarron Review, Shenandoah, and Network, among other literary journals. Little Great Island has been called "an extraordinary achievement and a pure pleasure to read," by National Book Award winning author Ha Jin.
