Housewife Molly Keane, along with her husband and son, is thrilled about buying a home in the Kansas countryside. But after moving, disturbing events soon become everyday occurrences in and around the house. As no one else experiences anything out of the ordinary, Molly begins to question her own sanity. And as her altered husband is unable—or unwilling—to believe her, she sinks into feelings of estrangement and isolation. The mystery begins to unfold when Molly learns from a peculiar individual that the house has a history of evil within its walls, and that a man who owned it long ago—and who may have a bizarre connection with her own ancestor—still resides there and wants her family out.
