I'm a desert rat through and through, with such love for Arizona that I created my own world here. I hike several times a week, and the town of Chuparosa was born on an isolated desert trail. The mythical spot is tucked into the foothills of a hazardous mountain range that crawls with creatures both mundane and fantastic. My books are about witches, angels, demons and monsters, told from the perspective of my generation (X), dismissing the notion that women, after a certain age, no longer possess the power to make an impact on the world.

I grew up in rural Arizona, but without access to the Other Side. Had there been a portal, you can bet that I would have gone through it a long time ago. Instead, I now make a happy life in less rural Arizona with my son Connor, my partner Mike, and three cats named Felix, Dusty and Daisy. There I write, hike, and watch way too many horror movies.
