I am winner of the Alligator Juniper National Fiction Award and have been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize. WORLD GONE MISSING (Regal House Publishing), my book of stories set in the San Francisco area, won the Nautilus Fiction Silver Medal. My stories and essays have appeared in McSweeny’s, The Rumpus, Fourth Genre, Alta Journal, The Los Angeles Review, and elsewhere. I’m a member of The Writers Grotto in San Francisco and co-founded Babylon Salon, a long-running literary series in the city. I teach writing at UC Berkeley Extension and speak regularly at writing conferences and organizations
