About
At 31 years old, I've woven a tapestry of experiences that spans continents and cultures. Born in the Philippines, I moved to the south of France at the age of 9. Curious about the Russian language, I studied Russian language and history, which propelled me to St. Petersburg, Russia, for two years. My first year in Russia was part of a student exchange programme, and my second year was after my graduation; a solo adventure to cultivate my fascination with the complexities and contradictions of post-communist Slavic culture. My academic pursuits culminated in Cadiz, Spain, where I earned a master's degree in translation.
I started my professional career as a freelance project manager specialising in translation and subtitling. A few months ago, I added "interpreter" as one more string to my bow. I assist individuals during medical appointments, legal proceedings, meetings with public officials, immigration hearings, social services consultations, and child protection cases. In these roles, I am a linguistic conduit and advocate for clarity, fairness, and dignity in every interaction. My work demands precision, discretion, and cultural sensitivity. I have honed these qualities through years of dedicated practice. Today, I'm about to embark on an exciting new challenge: my first full-length book translation. This project marks a significant milestone in my career. The opportunity to bring an author’s vision to a new audience is both thrilling and deeply rewarding, and I am eager to immerse myself in the intricacies of the text.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a lifelong learner and an adventurer at heart. Horseback riding is my sport of choice, but since I got my dog three years ago, I can't believe how much fun and goofy it can be running alongside him on the agility circuit. I also like indulging in literature, cinema, and of course music. But I have to say that cooking is my solace. It's a creative outlet that allows me to experiment, unwind, and connect with my family. It's also a passport to places I have yet to see.
My life has been defined by perseverance. I worked to finance my education and travels, and I take immense pride in graduating top of my class and having supported my family financially, often juggling multiple jobs to do so. But my aspirations extend beyond professional success. I seek a career that not only challenges me intellectually but also provides the stability to achieve my dream of homeownership and a fulfilling work-life balance.
I believe in professionalism, meticulousness, and the humility to learn from every experience. Integrity, fairness, and ethical responsibility are at the core of my values, as are kindness and generosity. I strive to be someone who can be relied upon for both candour and warmth. Those who know me appreciate my ability to listen, my unwavering support, and my sense of humour when times are tough... And that's pretty much it!

As mentioned in my Profile, I'm about to start my first full-length book translation. I've been offered the privilege of bringing the Rachel Hatch series, penned by L.T. Ryan and Brian Shea, to a new audience. A fast-paced thriller filled with action, suspense, and intrigue. The first book of this series is also a testament to resilience and strength. To translate a story is to bridge worlds, to preserve the pulse of the narrative while allowing it to breathe in a different language. I am eager to take on this challenge, to capture every nuance, every heartbeat of the text, and to ensure that readers experience its intensity as vividly as the original.
