Jilanne Hoffmann is the author of the nonfiction picture book A RIVER OF DUST: The Life-giving Link Between North Africa and the Amazon (Chronicle)—which received a Bank Street Best, ALA Notable, SCBWI Crystal Kite, and Junior Library Guild Gold award as well as a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly and Louis J. Battan Author’s Award from the American Meteorological Society. Jilanne is also the author of the board books HAPPY CAMPER (an Amazon editor’s pick) and THE HONEY BEAR HIVE ( both from Mudpuppy, 2023). Her forthcoming middle grade novel in verse/prose, HEARTLAND (Little Brown), and the nonfiction picture book, THE OCEAN’S HEART (Millbrook), are both due out in 2026.
