About Maida

Maida Korte writes books that blend interior design with family, teaching lessons about the hysterics both bring to life.
Being a mid-western gal, Maida has a need to work hard and always planned to run a small country. Having four daughters instead, she feels she has accomplished this goal. An Interior Designer for decades, and being a guest on three episodes of HGTV, Maida has embraced the writerly life. Her debut Memoir has a release date of June of 2026, titled, ‘From There to Here: How an Old House Remodeled Me.’ Maida’s second book, ‘Basically, It’s Going to be a Nightmare: Lessons in Remodeling’ is set to release February of 2026. She is currently working on her first novel.
Maida has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing. Her husband Andy keeps her centered and her four daughters and eight grand-children form her launch and her landing.
Maida contributes to her blog weekly and writes columns for the publication, Intellectual Take-Out, as well as The Epoch Times in their Home and Design section. She has published articles in Chicago Home Magazine, Parenting, Remodeling Magazine, and the Chicago Sun-Times.
