Fortune Chigozie Ogulere was born in Imo, Nigeria in 2001. As a boy, writing was the only way he could see a reflection of himself. He grew up in Owerri with a business-inclined father and a mother who introduced him to the African Writers who became his influence. Writers like Chinua Achebe, Ben Okri, Wole Soyinka, and Chimamanda Adichie amongst others. 
He graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a degree in Microbiology and then left for the US to pursue a career in Creative Writing. He currently resides in Lincoln, Nebraska, and has his sights set on an MFA in Fiction.
