Originally from New Jersey, Kathryn Robinson lived for many years in San Juan, Puerto Rico, teaching university-level English and freelancing as a travel writer and editor. Her writing has appeared in newspapers (The San Juan Star, The New York Times Travel Section), magazines (Qué Pasa, Caribbean Travel & Life), documentaries, and radio. Nonfiction books include The Other Puerto Rico and Where Dwarfs Reign: A Tropical Rain Forest in Puerto Rico. In 2013, she moved with her husband to Spokane, Washington, trading the warm Caribbean waters for the chillier Inland Northwest lakes. In Spokane, she has focused on writing fiction.
