Amy Yi-Mei Chen is a writer and editor with twenty years of journalism experience. After starting her career in newspapers and magazines, Chen joined LinkedIn’s editorial team as one of the founding editors in 2012. She now has 237,000 followers on LinkedIn.

Chen left LinkedIn to join Airbnb in 2019, where she was the managing editor for host communications during the pandemic. She was recruited in 2020 and again in 2022 to join two venture capital firms as VP of content, where she supported startup founders with editorial and content marketing strategy.

A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Chen is the recipient of the National Press Club’s Ellen Masin Persina scholarship and a Knight Ridder Scholar. She has also earned fellowships through the Maynard Institute’s Executive Leadership Track (2019) and the Asian American Journalists Association’s Executive Leadership Program (2021).
Her writing has appeared in Real Simple, Travel + Leisure, Money magazine, CNN.com, GoodHousekeeping.com, Frommers.com, BudgetTravel.com, and newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle, Contra Costa Times (now East Bay Times), St. Paul Pioneer Press, Myrtle Beach Sun News, and other publications.

Chen lives in Santa Barbara, Calif., with her husband and their Australian Shepherd.
