Saleha (Sally) Kuzniewski, Ph.D. has authored several publications in the fields of scientific research, biotechnology, and environmental regulations. She is the winner of the 2026 Jesse H. Neal award for the Best GEO Initiative and the 2023 Apex award for publication excellence.

In addition to her work as a researcher, adjunct faculty, and scientific consultant, she received an award for outstanding contribution at the US Geological Survey, best paper at the Virginia Academy of Science, and local funds to develop a biotechnology undergraduate course.

Her conference presentations include a research study on the microbial health of septic tanks presented at the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association where she was also a member of a panel discussion. She was also a platform presenter at the Battelle annual conference for her work on pyrene degradation pathways.

An avid writer, her numerous publications include articles on the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), on the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and on other environmental regulations.

Dr. Kuzniewski received her BS in biology from William Smith College, Master of Environmental Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and her PhD in Environmental Science and Public Policy from George Mason University.
