Cathy Whitlock is a freelance contributor and author of the books Designs on Film: A Century of Hollywood Art Direction (Harper Collins) and re-de-sign: New Directions For Your Interior Design Career (Fairchild). She also covers travel, costume, set and interior design, and celebrity profiles for a variety of magazines including The Hollywood Reporter, Frederic, Traditional Home, Four Seasons Hotels, Atlanta Homes, Santa Barbara, Southern Living and Regent Seven Seas.

She has covered celebrities from Meryl Streep and Javier Bardem to Bradley Cooper and Sidney Poitier and her travels have taken her everywhere from Australia and Ireland to Tahiti and Sri Lanka. Cathy is also a speaker and panel moderator on the subjects of production and set decor on film and television and was profiled in Italian Vogue and The Wall Street Journal. When she is not meeting a deadline or binging on Netflix (it’s work!), you can find her on the pickleball court.
