Andrea Harrison, a retired elementary school teacher became a self-employed content marketing writer in 2016 after discovering later in life that her true passion is to tell stories. Recently, Andrea has published her first children’s story book. With her story, “The Selfish Shellfish and the Sick Sea,” Andrea brings to this book her teaching experience, passion for words, concern for the planet and how this will impact the younger generation. Andrea is currently working on her second book, an adult romance novel. Through her experience in working with business clients to help tell their stories as well as telling her own, Andrea believes she is living proof that it is never too late in life to pursue your dreams and excel at what you like to do.

The Selfish Shellfish and the Sick Sea
The author takes children on a journey to experience how the main shellfish character’s selfish and greedy behavior will propel other fish to work together with compassion to improve conditions and their survival in the ocean. This environmental story is meant to create an awareness in young children about the importance of preserving the ocean, as well as reminding them that problems affecting everyone in a community can be solved with cooperation, generosity, empathy, and truthfulness.
