JOSEPH MAZUR is the author of Euclid in the Rainforest (Plume), The Motion Paradox (Dutton) What’s Luck Got to Do with It? (Princeton) and Enlightening Symbols (Princeton). He is the Editor of Number, the Language of Science (Plume). Among his many honors are a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Residency, and Bogliasco Foundation Fellowships. He is a Fellow of the Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences whose writings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Guardian, Science, Nature, and Slate. His forthcoming book is Fluke: The Math and Myth of Coincidence.
