About

Everyone has a story to tell. How you tell it matters.

A bit about me:

I'm a veteran, award-winning Chicago journalist. My reporting is like a Swiss Army knife: versatile and resourceful. I know how to research and get anyone to talk about anything.

I've written for more than 40+ national and regional outlets including The New York Times, TIME, Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, Reuters, USA Today, The Atlantic, Chicago Tribune, AFAR, Travel + Leisure, Fortune.com and The Sporting News among many others.

My reporting has included eating crickets in Cambodia, driving to every NFL city in the U.S., interviewing the likes of Justin Bieber and Maya Angelou and covering the trial of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich. I've served as president of the Chicago Headline Club, the largest Society of Professional Journalists chapter in the U.S. and earned a Peter Lisagor Award for Best Breaking News for my Time.com coverage. My in-depth reporting has resulted in several fellowships including one through the Dart Center on Gun Violence.

I worked with former New York Times Motherlode editor, KJ Dell'Antonia on her book, "How to Be a Happier Parent." Her acknowledgments in the book created word-of-mouth referrals for my work as a ghostwriter on various thought leadership and prescriptive nonfiction books for Fortune 500 executives.

Writing a book needs to be a collaborative process. Done right, it is a magical. The journey takes a lot of hard work from both parties. What success looks like is different for everyone. But having upfront, frank conversations at the beginning helps to get to the right destination.
