John DiMenna, a former businessman, returned to writing after his incarceration in 2018. He was released from federal prison in May 2020. He has written a collection of poems, A DIFFERENT KIND OF HELL, a hybrid form of memoir comprised of poems, essays, and narrative vignettes, IN SEARCH OF MYSELF, and a long-form memoir, A PRISON OF MY OWN. He is currently writing a family saga, THE LAST COMMENDATORE, based on three generations of an Italian-American family. Selections from the above have been published in Minutes Before Six, Rain Shadow Review, Unbroken, Evening Street Press, and Electric Literature. He resides on the east coast of Florida with his wife of fifty-two years and writes full-time.
