Rod Val Moore is the author of the short story collection, Igloo Among Palms, winner of the Iowa Short Fiction Award in 1994. His first novel, A History of Hands, won the 2013 Juniper Prize for Fiction, and is published by the University of Massachusetts Press. It was listed by Entropy.com as one of the ten best novels of the first half of 2014. Moore's second novel, Brittle Star, published by L.A.'s What Books Press, was selected by Foreward Reviews magazine as the best science fiction novel of the year, and later nominated for the 2015 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. In recent years he has concentrated on writing poetry.
