E. Willa Simpson is the Author of "On My Brother's Shoulders: An African American Anthology and Tribute to People of Color. Simpson is an advocate for civil rights and justice, residing on the Tavis Smiley Foundation media advisory committee and mentoring youth into leadership positions. She is also a Filmmaker, Producer, Researcher and Journalist. Most noted for the film entitled "The Lynching Tree" revolving around the story of Emmett Till who was an African American youth brutally lynched in 1955 whose case was critical in launching the early civil rights movement. Simpson holds publishing credits in several nationally syndicated publications and latest accomplishment is becoming a Scientist. Her work is world renowned and part of the literary collections of Harvard, Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, and the United Nations.
