About
Yu-Mei Balasingamchow (she/her) is the co-author of SINGAPORE: A BIOGRAPHY. Her short fiction has received a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, won the Mississippi Review Fiction Prize, and been shortlisted for the Sewanee Review Fiction Contest and the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. She is completing a novel with the support of a grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation.
Yu-Mei has an MFA in Creative Writing from Boston University and has received grants and fellowships in the U.S. from the Sewanee Writers Conference, Ragdale Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, Massachusetts Cultural Council and GrubStreet, and in Singapore from the National Arts Council and Nanyang Technological University. Originally from Singapore, she now lives in Boston.
