Rachel Coleman (she/they) is a Texas native who moved to Virginia in 2019 where she currently resides. She is a writer and author of the book 42 Things To Do Before You Go: Finding A Reason To Stay, entrepreneur, and “Chief Penguin Enthusiast'' at her start-up This Penguin Can Fly, LLC, an organization dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being amongst people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community by helping individuals reconnect with themselves, their communities and nature.
Over 20+ years she's sworn many hats from cashier and waitress to MBA and Chief Financial Officer before pivoting to personal development in 2020 with a certificate in Personal Development Coaching from the CaPP Institute. During a critical moment in her own mental health journey, Rachel began This Penguin Can Fly in 2023 and wrote 42 Things To Do Before You Go to help others by sharing her own life experiences and mental health journey. Rachel has been a guest speaker at live events and on podcasts as well as hosted seminars and lunch & learns. Her stories inspire self-love, forgiveness, and healing with humorous tales of coming into her own after surviving domestic abuse and trauma.
She has an undying love of penguins and dogs, is a fledgling aerialist, enjoys traveling and food.
