About the Service
As a widely published children's book author I speak to a small number of 8 to 12-year-olds--either in a household or classroom--about my adventure novels for middle-grade readers: DEATH MOUNTAIN (Peachtree), ICE ISLAND (Random House) and/or FROZEN STIFF (Random House). Each novel is based on a personal expeerience. For instance, the inspiration behind DEATH MOUNTAIN occurred after my backpacking party was stranded on an exposed ridge in the Sierra Nevada during an electrical storm. The pack mule was struck and killed and three women in our party were airlifted to a hospital. FROZEN STIFF was inpsired by a kayaking trek to the largest tidewater glacier in Alaska. Proposed sessions: 30 or 45 minutes.
