About the Service

Let's turn your book into something you've always dreamed of.

I'm Robin (she/her)! I fell in love with stories as a child—especially those woven with magic or those that took me to other worlds. I fell so much that I became completely and utterly surrounded by them, whether I was writing or reading or playing video games. Now, I have the very cool job of helping stories come to life.

I started editing in 2016 as a nonfiction assistant editor for the North Texas Review. In 2019, I became a copyeditor and proofreader for Unsolicited Press before diving into freelancing full time in 2021. Now, I'm a freelance sci-fi and fantasy (SFF) editor at Dragon Editing Services who travels to magical worlds for a living. I also joined Phenomena Press—a press dedicated to championing aromantic and asexual stories—as their copyeditor in 2025!

I have a BA in English with a concentration in creative writing and three editing certificates, including a copyediting certificate from UC San Diego Extension. I'm also a member of ACES: The Society for Editing, Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), and LGBTQ+ Editors Association.

Robin is a fantastic editor. Full stop. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and incredible willingness to help above and beyond her extensive and detailed copyedit are reasons enough to choose her as your editor, but if for some reason it isn't, then here's some more reasons she's at the top of my list of editors on every single project I work on from this point on:

Robin brings experience to the table that will make your manuscript shine. She will help every word flow together as beautifully as possible, make your writing more concise, and explain why she's suggesting what she does, complete with examples and well thought-out responses. She doesn't just want to make your manuscript better; she wants to make YOU better.

She works hard to understand the vision of your story, and any suggestion she makes will only serve that vision. She's diligent, generous with critiques and feedback, and is never rude. I won't pretend there aren't other editors who do what Robin does, but I can say with confidence that there are TONS of other editors who don't. Robin is fair, communicative, and incredibly detailed, and your manuscript will thank you for choosing her as your next editor.

Calling all disabled and/or LGBTQIA+ writers!

Need someone to look over your query letter? I have a free query edit giveaway!

Once a month (around day twenty), I will use a random number generator to pick a query to edit for free, and if I find magic pockets of time, I may end up doing more. I specialize in fantasy, science fiction, and adventure books, but your book doesn't have to be in those genres to apply.

If you win, you'll get an email from me with instructions on how to send your query. With those instructions comes a free booklet with some query writing tips and resources for your querying process. Once the query is delivered to me, I'll get the edits back to you within one week. Afterward, if you have any questions at all, you can reach out at any time.

If you don't win, you don't have to resubmit. Your entry will be kept. And I'm here for you too, so if any questions come to mind, you can reach out to me.

I wish everyone the best of luck!
