About the Service

An award-winning journalist with decades of writing and media experience, I nearly flunked college due to its rigorous writing requirement (and undiagnosed ADHD). So, I'm infinitely grateful to the professors and, later, editors who tortured me with the high standards that molded me into the writer I am today.

Being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder late in life was a defining moment that fundamentally improved how I live in this world of neurotypical people. That and several years volunteering with Eagle Mount -- a recreational program for disabled people -- has led me to focus my work on telling the stories of people who are underrepresented in media and are, therefore, not well understood.

My work has appeared in national and regional magazines and daily newspapers including Narratively, Montana Quarterly, Mountain Outlaw, Bitterroot Magazine, Mushing, Mainebiz, Cattle Business Weekly, Fine Art Connoisseur, Outside Bozeman, Bozeman Daily Chronicle and the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. I've also produced feature pieces for Maine Public Radio's Maine Things Considered and have been interviewed about the importance of local media on KGVM radio.

Copywriting and editing clients include Intuit, eHow, The Rhodes Trust, Bozeman Health, Huffington Post and The World Bank.

I am a member of ACES - the society for editing, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Solutions Journalism Network.
